Mary Viola Aikens
Mrs. Mary Viola Aikens of Moose Jaw passed away on March 12, 2010 at the age of eight-nine years. Born October 1, 1920 at Mawer Saskatchewan the fourth child of a family of seven. Mary attended school in Mawer and in 1939 the Normal School in Moose Jaw. As a teacher she taught school near Tugaske and also in Darmody. On June 20, 1943 she married Clifford Aikens. The couple resided in communities throughout Canada and in 1972 they moved to make their home in Moose Jaw. Predeceased by her parents, four sisters, one brother and a daughter Aletha. Mary is survived by her loving husband Cliff; daughter: Glenda Hyndman; son; Don (Taleathahh) and three grandchildren: Chris Hyndman, Pierre Raby, Stephanie Ball and a Great Grandson: Levi, also her sister Aletha Davis. In keeping with Mary’s wishes a private family service will take place at a later date. Cremation with memorialization will take place at the Central Butte cemetery.
